Before Installation: The Site Survey
Every installation starts with a site visit, not a truck full of panels. A technician checks your roof's structural condition, orientation, shading from nearby buildings or trees, and your electrical panel's capacity to handle the new system. This is also when your system size gets finalized — see our system sizing guide if you want to estimate this yourself beforehand.
The survey typically takes 1–2 hours and results in a final quote, single-line diagram, and confirmed installation date.

What Happens on Installation Day
Larger systems (20kW+) or three-phase commercial installs typically span 2–3 days rather than one, mainly due to additional wiring and structural work.
What You Need to Provide
- Roof access on the agreed installation date
- A stable electrical connection point (existing meter/panel)
- CNIC and recent electricity bill for net metering paperwork, if applicable
- Clear access path for equipment (panels, inverter, mounting frames)
After Installation: Net Metering & First Bill
| Milestone | Typical Timing |
|---|---|
| Installation complete, system live | Day of install |
| Net metering application submitted | Within 1 week of install |
| DISCO inspection & meter swap | 2–6 weeks after application |
| First credited bill | Next billing cycle after meter swap |
See our net metering guide for the full application process and required documents.
Plan for roughly 6–10 weeks from booking your survey to seeing your first credited bill — the install itself is usually the fastest part. Most of that time is DISCO paperwork, not construction, so having a NEPRA-licensed installer who handles the net metering process for you meaningfully shortens the wait.

Most residential systems (up to 15kW) are installed in a single day, roughly 6–8 hours. Larger commercial systems can take 2–3 days depending on complexity.
It's recommended, at least for the walkthrough and handover at the end, so you can review the monitoring app setup and ask questions directly.
Briefly, yes — typically during the final connection to your electrical panel. This is usually limited to under an hour and scheduled to minimize disruption.
The site survey identifies this upfront. Ground-mount options exist for roofs with structural issues, heavy shading, or insufficient space — your installer will recommend the best fit during the survey.
Yes — installation and net metering are sequential but separate. Your system can be installed and generating power for self-consumption while the net metering application is still being processed.
At Enon Traders, yes — installation labor is included in our system pricing. Confirm this explicitly with any installer, as some quote equipment and labor separately.
